what kind of hose to use

i was wonderin what kind of hose do use for your 11 plant garden that i built and im using a submersible pump 170 gallons per hour and it has a fan or it looks like a fan a hole that looks like a hose can be connected to it

I use a 1/2 inch hose which is standard for most pumps.
