is it necessary to use solo cups

Mike here again, I hate to bug you so much but I have another questions regarding rockwool and solo cups. Since I am using rockwool, is it necessary to use solo cups? I figured I didn't need them because the rockwool is not loose but in blocks. Hope you can help and thanks.

I have never tried it but it sounds logical to me. I would use the cups only for loose rockwool.
