Also, I found were folks were using composted rice hulls. Cheaper then perlite. Can they work, be reused?

bibb lettuce question
My buttercrunch lettuce is doing fine, cant keep up eating it, but it doesn't form a head, I'm assuming because its loose leaf type. If I were to plant Bibb seeds would they form a head like the ones...

They do look kind of long and sparse, but I'm very new to this and still learning. I'm sure you will get some answers here from GPS frontier or someone more knowledgeable then myself.
