You can tell exactly what the light is costing you with a
kill a watt meter, they come in all diffract models, as well as with different features, and price ranges. But they will all tell you how much a particular appliance is costing to run, and I have seen them at Lowe's and Home Depot for under $20 (possibly even less on eBay).
