Hello hydrophotobio,

That sounds like a good setup for comparison. I know you said that the experiment is on your own dime, and so cost is probably a issue. But for me, I'm especially interested in how the led lights compare to HID, as well as florescent (especially on the lettuce that I believe you said was planed). Also if you could use a Kill-a-watt meter to accurately record energy consumption, as well as cost to grow the plants, that would be beneficial information (especially if comparing to HID and florescent). The kill-a-watt meters come in all kinds of price ranges and with different bells and whistles. But they all will record energy consumption, and calculate cost when you input price per kilowatt that's on your electric bill, and I have seen some at Home Depot/Lowe's for under $20.
