Default Hydroponics for a science fair project

HI,

We need some ideas as to what to do my daughter's expt. on. Thinking of comparing grow of swedish ivy in hydroponic sysem vs. soil. Or maybe 2 hydroponic plants and comparing nutrient deficiency such as nitrogen. Any other ideas or comments?

Please help.

I did not find the right solution from the internet.

Default Idea

I would do two small deep water cultures (air bubbles and dangle roots in)

Do some fast growing lettuce.. butter crunch.. do one with a nutrient and one without and compare growth rate (height etc) you need several weeks though

beansprouts are really easy to grow and you could compare if nutrient(s) made a difference. you could start with equal weight of mung bean and measure the whole mass at the end.. you could grow several batches for good data comparison..
