Default PH Up/Down initial amounts?

Ok folks, I have a 9 gallon reservoir feeding an ebb and flow table for 2 simpson elite and 2 basil plant seedlings.

This will be the very first run in a few days and I will set the nutrients for about 1/4 strength for the first several days.

My question is this; what constitutes "a small amount" in regards to adding PH up or down? Both bottles and the instruction sheet say the same thing ("a small amount").

Any "starter" amount based on the size info I gave above? I have no idea what "a small amount" is relative to....2 drops / 2 teaspoons etc. I really don't want to waste an hour adding drop by drop if the amount is higher or burn it all out by adding tspn when it needs a drop, LOL.

Thanks.
