Default Help with tomatoes... !!!!

This is a plant started from seed on 1/22/12. This particular plant is a Roma. Look at the leaves in the picture. They curl up and then get crispy green/brown. I think I may have "sunburned" them? I went right up to 1000w of light without hardening them off first. At least that's what I think. ??? This is my first Tomato grow. I have 3 other Cherry plants that have a similar condition, just not as bad. It's not nutrient burn as I'm only using 1/4 strength Fox Farms liquids right now. Grow Big and Big Bloom. And yes I know I'm not growing in a hydro set-up but the other forum sights are filled with marijuana growers for the most part. Any help or thoughts would be very much appreciated.

I don't really know that much about tomatoes but I have seen lots of posts here about what I think maybe the same issue. Maybe they are not getting enough nutes specifically cal and mag. I would do a search on the posts to see what you can find and if somebody that knows more does not post, just seach the web and not specifically hydro tomatoes cuz the plant is still the same plant, it dosent know if it is in hydro or soil.

Have you tried moving the lights farther away? What is the air temp around the plants (leaves with the problem)?

looks like an environmental issue to me
I have a display set up at a future farm market site
they are having issues with the heating system [high effencie space heaters]
the burner wasn't lighting all the way and was dumping raw natural gas into the area

the leaves look the same and also killed off blossoms
once the problem was corrected they are doing fine now

hope this helps

Doc.

Default Epsom Salts

Epsom works great with tomatoes. I have had all kinds of problems in the past with Hydroponic tomatoes and have found that if i mix some salts with water and spray them and add some to the water or coco it works great and helps all kinds of problems. It helps with blooming, end rot, and brown leaves. You can buy a bucket at Sams club and the directions are on the bucket on how to use it for plants I put a 1/4 cup on my coco coir per plant.Mix about 2 table spoons to a quart of water and spray. Or add some to your deep water system. I use it for all my plants.
