Default making water filters last longer? zerowater 23 cup dispenser

hi
is there any way to make my water filters last longer?
if i run water backwards through it will that be good or bad?
i am using the zerowater 23 cup dispenser

Hello chopficaro,
Sorry, No there isn't really any way to back flush a filter to clean it out. The only way to make a filter last longer is to pre-filter the water before it goes through your filtration system. You can run the water through less expensive seatmate, carbon, and/or absolute 1 micron filters before you run it through more expensive filters. You still need to change the less expensive filters regularly as well. But it can help prolong the life of the more expensive filter's.
