: hi
: ok i think i can build all the pipe work and bottle side of this thing, but what kind of capacity pump would i need.Ive built my own ebb and flow system recently, a small one for maybe 3 plants and thought that 285l (75 gallon) per hour would be more than enough. When it had to raise the water 6 inchs or so it could barely manage 1 litre an hour.Needless to say i changed it for a bigger one,a 1000l (265 gallon)does the trick nicely.i cant begin to imagine what capcity i would need to fill 11 bottlesat a height of even 18 inchs.Am i working this out wrong? do i need to find a pump which is higher in torque ? if so what kind of thing am i looking for ?

: cheers Gaz

I use 250 GPH, which is too large for the 11-plant garden so I use a flow control valve to cut down on the water to the garden. Then if I increase the size of the garden, I can open the valve to increase the flow of the water to the garden.
