I think I've read about trimming them back, which inturn doesn't let them grow bigger, but they will still produce.
Maybe someone can also comment on this that has more expierence with cutting back roots?
I currently only do lettuce in my 11plant setup and don't have that problem. I ussually change out my plants before that happens.
and
when I was doing my NFT system...once the roots reached the resevior..I just cut them back and everything seemed to be fine.
