Hello, does anyone out there know much about growing strawberries hydroponicly. I live in Taiwan and its hot and humid most of the time. I know the plant likes cool temperatures and have read that you can cool the nutrient solution, and use shadecloth with fans to reduce air temps. Is there any problem with nutrients at 60 or 65 and air temps at 80. If you have any information, I would appreciate it. Its especially hard to find much information on hydroponics in tropical places. Thank you. Jack

has anyone here every designed a dutch pot system with detachable pots? if so, could you direct me towards plans? thanx
I have an 11-plant system and its working just fine. one bottle in this system is a 3-liter bottle. In this system all my tees are threaded. Now to accommodate the 3-liter bottle you will have to use a 1 inch to 1.5 inch reducer or fitting. The fitting screwed into the 1 inch threaded tees and the large 3-liter cup fits perfectly into the 1.5 section of the fitting.Hope this will help someone out there. Tony
I have a wonderful hydrangia and it is blooming profusely. How can I support the heavy blooms from reaching the ground?

hydroponic nutrient solution
Has anybody ever read the book by daniel storm??? I would like to chat with you about the water culture method and system he describes in his book, I'm alittle confused on parts of the system
Hi Ron , I have a Hydranga bush that is enormous but it doesn't bloom. Got any ideas, what is wrong ?
Some plants are forced to bloom by the number of dark hours they receive over a number of 24 hour days..
YO Ron-
Someone is selling every piece of information on your site on ebay. You should sue that guy
I e-mailed the guy and told him he was going to be visited by online members, even in Quebec. I got loyal members everywhere. He claims he was only selling the link to my pictures.
That`s not the first auction they`ve ran with Ron`s pics. Had some clown take my pics before too. Mike www.bananavilla.com

I am a South African who would like to establish a commercial hyroponics operation. I have absolutely no experience in hydroponics, but strongly believe that it is the way to go in SA, particularly as we do not have a lot of arable land. please advise on I should go about establishing a commercial hydroponics operation, in terms of costs, requirements, crops, etc.
Thanks MN
Ron, I want to do a hydroponic study with my school. Could the 11 plant system work in a classroom or do we need to build a greenhouse? Do you know of anyone willing to donate a system to my school--Calvary Baptist School, New Orleans, La.
Att.MN from Southafrica.I am prepared to assist. westa@intekom.co.za

EZ Hydro Big Joke!! Build it yourself
Can you grown lettuces and tomatoes in the same trough or do they different fertilizer requirements?
Lettuce is a low nutrient plant and tomato is a high user of fertilizer. You might have a problem.
I am writing a paper and using this website as a reference, Can you please give me your credentials to use for the bibliography page?
a cheap and easy way to start seeds is to take a 1 or 2oz plastic bathroom cup(the kind u use to put mouth wash in), put a hole in the bottom, shread sum newspaper, wet it, put in the cup, drop in a couple of seeds, add a thin layer of shreaded newspaper on top and water everyday with a diluted hydroponic nutrient solution(maybe 1/4 tsp per gallon), put in a tray in warm place that gets sum sun or under a grow light...hope someone can use this,
-poorboy
can you use 3liter bottles if so are there more directions so i dont make that many mistakes...has anyone used 3 litre?
Is the 11 planter run like a ebb & Flow? If so, How long should the "level" be High? Thanks Jay
Just long enough to wet the roots every 20 minutes or so.
Ron, Geeeez...I found the answer to my questions and even more reading all the other pages This is gonna be Fun! Thanks Jay
Hi Cat, you can get Pure Blend nutrient at this website---- wwwamericanagritech.com tony
how often and for how long do i flood and drain the 11 plant system
Just long enough to wet the roots every 20 minutes or so.
Would like to grow more then one veggie in a system...possible?...Or do I have to have separate Garden for each veg.? Jay
Yes you can. I do. But for optimum growth you should use fertilizer formulated to what you are growing..
Is this new product the Masquito Magnet worth checking out - it releases co2 to attract masquitos - kinda interesting, would it work for plant growth?
my guess would be that it's an co2 generator with a bug zapper attached to kill the mosquito when they come close. Get rid of the bug zapper and keep the generator it might work.
ron, i just finished the first 75 pages of your questions and answers. i am now an expert. really though i have learned sooooo much. thank you for giving your time to my new hobby. also tried to order some products from you but i cannot seem to get the grow rocks on the same order sheet as the rest. my email is barkin1034@aol.com. help me so i can help you. thanks again. barkin
I will fix that.
ron, how did the tomatos taste that you grew with miracle gro, calcium nitrate and epsom salt? better, worse, or the same as normal hydro nutrients?
I didn't use it long enough to find out.
where can you buy co2 in the uk
If they have welding supply stores their.
Has anybody tried the cage yet. it is the vertical growing system from holland that holds 72 plant in a 1.33m floor space
how far should i space my plants
12 inches is standard unless you are growing bushy plants or 12 ft tomato plants.
Dont Buy seeds from The pukka seed company. THEY LIE about seed flowering periods to make there product look irresistable, when infact some of the plants finish flowering two weeks later then they claim. Also there seeds are as much as 40% more expensive.
why does the outer skin crack on my juicy tomatoes.
I think to much heat during the day.
i ordered a garden from you a while back and it is not here yet. what should i do?
Did you allow two weeks for delivery.
hello, i have built your eleven plant hydro kit explained on your page. however i am unsure of a couple things, 1. how often do you change the water in the resivoir and also how do i change it.also i dont really understand if i am suppost to put my growing medium directly inside the two liter bottles, or put a net pot inside of the bottles. and lastly how do i know how much to clamp off ike a gpg pump. my e-mail is abbot1027@aol.com
Just started hydro and I love it.....Thank you for a great web page Ron!
Thanks,

I just wanted to drop a quick word to Ron to praise him not only for an excellent on-going tutorial in hydroponic gardening in text and pictures, but for the fantastic work he's done in educating the masses on this wonderful (and addictive!!) hobby.
I've been gardening for a couple of months now, using principles that Ron has displayed on the pages here, as well as other ideas I've gleaned over the internet.
All in all, I keep coming back, Ron... yours is definitely the best of sites! Please keep up the good work.

Dear Ron, Thanks for a great site, I really has helped me with various questions. =) I have a Hydroponics Waterfarm and a drip system using a aquarium pump (aerophonic?). My plants are in Grodan Rockwool and planted in legga. Can I leave the drip system om 24/7 or how often?
Regards Dan from Denmark, Europe
That might be to much for rockwool. Rockwool stays wet longer than grow rocks so you might have a root rot problem.
What kind of water is best to use in the 11 plant solution , well ,rain, bottled, regular tap, creek water???
Best to worst- well, rain, bottled, creek, tap.
