Here are 2 strands of old stock civil war sword wire. They have been naturally aged out in the weather for years. The 1st oneis the correct gauge1860 cavalry, and the 2nd one is correctfora1840 heavy Cavalry (i.e. wrist breaker) The heavier one (2nd one)is also correct for a 1840 Artillery. There is a difference folks, as both 1840 types are the same while the 1860 type is different (thinner). You can order bright stuff made in India from others. I have shown here what it looks like. Believe me it looks horrible on an old sword not to mention it is not the correct twist or gauge. This sale is for two strands with the 3rd bright one shown for comparison purposes.
