KAY 17\" jumbo acoustic archtop guitar 1950\'s Chicago US harmony checker binding:
$349.99

New lower price!!! First off, I apologize for some of my pictures having a black border on one side and the dimesion/ratio is slightly squished in making it appear skinnier. For some reason, my phone\'s camera does that when taking pictures vertically and only when using photos when listing on . If you\'d like more pictures, please let me know and I\'ll take them horizontally. Up for sale/sale is a vintage (1950\'s I believe) Harmony 17\" wide jumbo archtop acoustic guitar with checker binding. The upper bout is 12.25\" wide. The body depth is 3.5\" from binding to binding with a little extra due to the arch on the top and back. The length of the body is 21\". The nut width is approximately 1.75\". If you happen to know any specifics about the exact year or model, please message me so that I can update this listing to make it as accurate as possible. This was made in Chicago, Illinois back when you could get a decent American made guitar from a number of outlets such as Sears/Roebuck, Western Auto, and Montgomery Wards catalogs. There are a few condition issues that need to be mentioned. At some point the neck had been reset, which is almost always needed (not to mention that a neck reset costs around $400 these days). The reset was done pretty well with it being attached solid but there is a little bit of space at the end of the heel. There was also a hole drilled in the heel for an optional bolt for extra reinforcement. There is a small spot where the binding has a space behind the heel and at the bottom. There is some chipping of paint and plenty of wear around the body and neck. The back of the headstock has a good amount of wear from going in and out of the case over the half century plus time of this guitar\'s existence (60+ years!). The tuners are original and look to be vintage Kluson Deluxe style and they function fine. All in all, this guitar is in good, solid playing condition. Some setup work may be required to get this guitar in top, playing shape. A setup may be required to get it to your personal preference. Look at the photos provided for overall condition. A modern style black chipboard case will be included. I didnt bother using my photos on the case since it\'s just a common, black chipboard case. I feel it\'s much more important to use all pictures for the guitar itself. The case is in good shape and fits the guitar perfectly. This guitar will be shipped in the case itself with plenty of padding around the guitar itself with lots of tape keeping it closed securely. To be clear, I use the case itself as the shipping container with padding surrounding the guitar and I use a type of clear packing tape that usually comes off the case clean, yet sticks to itself very well. The case will clearly be labeled \"fragile\" many times and the case will be taped around as many as 9 or more times. I have shipped countless guitars around the world (Australia, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, etc.) this way with no problems whatsoever.-Comes from the smoke-free, child-free, dog-free home of a serious adult musician and collector.-I take pride in fast and safe shipping and handling. I usually ship the same day as payment is received when possible.-Check out my many other guitars and collectibles for sale. All my items are sold \"as is\" and should arrive in condition as pictured. I am not a guitar expert, luthier, or tech. I do not repair, set-up, or make adjustments to guitars. I leave that work up to the professionals. I do my very best to honestly and accurately describe my items to the very best of my abilities. I charge a flat/fixed rate for shipping and HANDLING due to the unpredictable nature of fluctuating shipping costs, balloon rates, fuel prices, packing materials, and varying destinations. Thank you very much for your interest and valuable time. Happy offerding, good luck, and most importantly, take care.
