You screw on a nozzle that will fit into the crack or crevice you want to clean out. There is a hole about 7 inches down form the top of the barrel. You keep your thumb over this hole while pulling up on the plunger. You pull up on the handle until you see a line on the plunger. Then you swing the gold sucker over your pan or other container and take your thumb off of the hole. This breaks the vacuum and the material falls out.
