Orvis, 6’6”, “Rocky Mountain Fly-Spin bamboo fly rod – unused! This
impregnated, three-piece rod with two full-length tip sections, with serial number
65908 (1972), has the 10/64ths and 13/64ths ferrules and is tapered just like the
“Rocky Mountain” fly rod model of the same length. It has the longer all-cork
grip/reel seat with the flat surface, and two aluminum sliding bands that will
easily hold a fly or spinning reel. (At 3 1/8 ounces the all-cork is lighter than the
wooden spacer-locking reel seat model.) It has the bright ferrules and the two
larger Mildrum carbaloy guides, one on the butt section and one on the mid. This
rod, made for a DTF 5 line, is essentially new with no repairs and none needed. It
comes in the original labeled aluminum tube and cloth bag and, as an extra treat it
has the correct leather carrying tube that is in near-new condition. In this
condition, this Orvis model with all the goodies is pretty darn rare.
