PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE offerDING. SHIPPING ONLY TO THE LOWER 48 STATES OF THE U.S.A.(at the moment).....NO INTERNATIONAL so you know: I AM a TREASURE HUNTER that searches for interesting items ONLY(such as this Rare, vintage Director Conn Trombone),at estate sales, yard sales, etc, etc.,to be saleED/SOLD here on .Also, please know that I AM NOT an expert on trombones(i play guitar and know NOTHING about trombones). EVERYTHING that im about to state came out of the internetand the trombone itself.I did an EXTENSIVE,EXTENSIVE,EXTENSIVE research on this particular Trombone and all i can say is that what im about to write is very interesting and confusing...I WILLEXPLAIN!
First of all, this Trombone is a Director C.G.CONN,LTD USA. As you can see in the pictures, there is a number 40 followed by the serial number of 331827 on the Trombone.I have this Trombone listed as RARE because this Model 40(the style of this trombone) looks more like a 50H model. Based on the serial number, this trombone dates to theyear 1940/1941.....HOPEFULLY(with the pictures that i provided and your research),YOU WILL BE ABLE TO KNOW WHAT THIS TROMBONE IS ALL ABOUT.This trombone for being this old,it looks great(at least to me),but it does have SOME small dings, scratches and plating wear...the slide moves freely and the trigger also VIEW ALL PICTURES AS THEY ARE PART OF THE also have it listed as RARE because on the Conn Recognition Guide,it states that if it is a DIRECTOR,it is either a 14H OR 18H and that both have a 7 1/2 bell. WELL,thistrombone bell measures approx: 8 5/16 inches(im assuming that this particular DIRECTOR was a Special Order(my opinion) ). Like i said before,I DON\"T play trombone(horns)but when i blew on it a very nice sound came out. Also,i tried to compare this Model 40 to the 40 models on the internet(also known as the BALLROOM MODEL),but they don\'tlookalike. AGAIN.,this trombone looks more like a 50H trombone, but PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH,THAT WAY YOU KNOW WHAT EXACTLY YOU WILL BE BUYING,asthis trombone is being saleED/SOLD \"AS-IS\" with NO PARTIAL REFUNDS>>>>>SALE IS FINAL<<<<<.This trombone comes with a super nice CONN Case(all latches work,JUST A BEAUTIFUL CASE),2 mouthpieces(1 HOLTON 7C & 1 VINCENT BACH CORP. 6 1/2 AL),trombonecleaner wire & Cloth, trombone cream, andConn premiumslide oil.All i can say is that this trombone(besides being rare),it is beautiful and it works.
