Offered is a jeweler's engarving ball vise. This one is a Victor measuring 5 inches across. The jaws will open to about 3-1/2 inches at full extension. The vise came from the estate of a skilled jeweler and watchmaker. It has some age on it but I don't know exactly how much. I am offering some of his engraving tools in a separate sale.
The vise is in pretty good working condition. It's been well-used and there is tarnish and loss of plating. I can see one significant issue. The center bolt is supposed to ride in a little saddle clip to keep it centered. This clip was secured to the bedby a small screw and it is broken off about level with the bed. I believe the sort of person who would use this tool will be better at backing it out and replacing it than me. (I think I could do it.) It'd clean up some. The base is some kind of fiberboard. Please enlarge the pictures and look it over closely. It weighs right at 16 pounds before packing.
