Item Description:This is an original WWI U.S. officer’s m1913 cavalry saber, also known as aPatton sword. The blade and the mountings are in Excellent condition. The sword has a blade length of 35 inches(89 cm) and a total length of 43 inches (110 cm) when in the scabbard. Theblade is marked ‘S.A. 1914’ on one side indicating manufacture at the Springfieldarmory. It is marked with a serial number of 12190 on the other side.
The blade shows some light rust and a couple very small micro nicks. The scabbardshows little wear. The handle shows some missing paint but retains a healthypatina. I think this sword would be a superb addition for a collector of U.S.swords or WWI militaria.
