This wall plaque originated from a collection purchased from the XILE Boutique (Perth, Western Australia) in the mid-1990s. This plaque was specifically constructed for this store and used as a marketing and advertising item. This Boutique specialised in selling 1st-Line GIANNI VERSACE Couture Fashion-Wear & Accessories, as well as GIANNI VERSACE HOME and GIANNI VERSACE HOME Signature Collections. This store also offered collections from Dolce & Gabbana, GUCCI and John GALLIANO.
This same plaque has been used in the GIANNI VERSACE Fashion-Shows at the RITZ HOTEL (Paris, FRANCE) and Milano (ITALY) during the 1990s. The plaque has also been used to adorn the front gates of the VERSACE PALAZZO HOTEL (MainBeach, Queensland, Australia - see photo), as well as the front gates of Gianni Versace\'s New York Town-House Apartment (Manhattan, NY). The plaque measures 30cm in diameter and is constructed of solid-Plaster composite. This is NOT a plastic or resin product.It features a heavily-detailed GIANNI VERSACE MEDUSA Head that is finished in gold guild. The perimeter of the plaque is surrounded by a reinforced gold-guild beam. The panel on the plaque is very Rare and is known as the \"Floral-Tapestry BAROCCO\", originally designed by Gianni Versace in 1994. The pattern features a Vintage Gianni Versace Medusahead which is surrounded by a heavily-detailed ornate Baroque leaf. This pattern is extremely rare and is well-sought after amongst collectors. The back of the plaque has a integrated iron-hook which allows the plaque to be wall-mounted.
