Travel back in timewith this vintageviolin. I\'m not exactly sure how old it is, but would reasonably guess 50 to 100 years. The inside label, as pictured, is marked \"Richard Rubus\" and \"Petersbourg Vv.\" It\'s a typical Rubus, or Rubus copy, with soft edges on the top and back. What wood is this? Maple or spruce? I\'m not sure, but it\'s definitely a foxy blonde violin. With a 14\" body and 23-1/2\" length, it\'s 4/4 full size. Structurally, it seems to be in fine condition. Cosmetically, though there is some minimal play wear, it is also in fine condition. The 29-1/4\" bow is unmarked. I\'m a guitarist and (would-be) pianist, so I cannot comment on how it sounds. It came from the estate of a couple who ran a small-town music store in northern Ohio. They kept good care of their instruments, and this is no exception. The case is in decent vintage condition (the inside is nice, but the outside is worn). All the case hinges and latches work well. It is a gorgeous old violin, ready for its new owner.
