This is a new Revell Miniships 1:1200 Scale Gneisenau Model Kit (Item #06817). This is a kit and assembly is required. The parts are movable and can either be glued or snapped together. This kit has the instruction diagram & painting scheme on the back of the box. Glue and paint not included. NOTE THE BOX HAS BEEN OPENED BUT THE CONTENTS ARE FACTORY SEALED
This battle cruiser was launched on 18/12/1936 and went into service on 21/05/1938. She was a sister to Scharmhorst. In the design of this class absolute priority was given to stability. In 1939/40 she ventured forth to the north of the North Sea and sank the British auxiliary cruiser Rawalpindi. On 26th and 27/02/1942 the Gneisenau was bombed in Keil, taken out of service, moved to Gotenhafen and on 28/03/1945 she was sunk.
