It should make sense that plant receiving plenty of diffuse light from the blue sky doesn’t need to grow taller. Instead they should concentrate on bushing out.

Thislisting is for a new 1000 watt conversion bulb. It will make more natural white light on your existing orange light , HPS (High Pressure Sodium) fixture.

It is designed to be electrically mated to a 1000 watt HPS ballast.

Don’t get burned with the so called switchable grow lights. Normal metal halide bulbs and HPS bulbs operate on different voltages. Switching an igniter in and out will either fry electrodes and prematurely burn out ballast coils with one lamp, or seriously under drive one of the lamps. This underpowered lamp dims and loses efficiency. (Light output drops faster than wattage reduction.)

We used to sell a lot of ballasts to a store owner that insisted on using metal halide lamps on HPS ballasts.

However, the metal halide bulb in this auction is specifically designed to operate on an HPS ballast. It will withstand the high voltage kickstart that a sodium fixture delivers.
