1863 CIVIL WAR BULLET IN WOOD .* CHANCELLORSVILLE VA
I will be selling a large Civil War collection over the next several weeks so please bookmark my sellers page and check back each week. This sale is for a genuine Civil War bullet that missed its target and got lodged in a tree during the Battle of Chancellorsville in 1863. The wood appears to be Pine and the side is branded BATTLE OF CHANCELLORSVILLE MAY 2, 1863. The maximum dimensions are 14” x 2” x 1 ¾”. The bullet is deformed and there is a small natural cavity caused by the impact which increases the bullet’s visibility. There are also deformed wood fibers caused by the impact.
