I have what I am told is a early (Custer era) original 1873 trapdoor carbine barrel, let me start with the good. It is 22 inches long and shows to have the proper tapper, has V P small eagle and p on side, has P P on bottom, has the original front sight base, good threads, square at the chamber where it mates up the the breech block holder... Not rounded like later models. Now the bad, I WAS TOLD THIS BARREL WILL NEED TO BE RELINED IF YOU PLAN TO MAKE A SHOOTER, also at some point it was chromed.. probably for a parade gun or for use at a VFW Post I am told (easy for any chrome shop to remove), It also has some small marks from the goon who took it off the action ( i took a picture). I am listing as to what I am told, I am not really an expert so please look at the pictures as they are part of the description. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
