This brass coin/medal/medallion is 1-1/4" across, 2mm thick, and is dated "JULY 1910".
It is a Boy Scout good luck medallion with a small hole in the top.
The front shows a Boy Scout on a horse with 'THE ORIGINAL "BOY SCOUTS" SHOE FOR BOYS---JULY 1910' stamped around the perimeter.
The back has the original good luck symbol in the center with "GOOD LUCK" at the top and "MANUFACTURED BY THE EXCELSIOR SHOE CO. PORTSMOUTH, O." stamped around the perimeter. The symbol was later adopted by the Nazi's and called a Swastika. Inside the arms of the symbol are a horseshoe, a four leaf clover, a wishbone, and 3 other symbols that I do notrecognize. "SCHWAAB MILWAUKEE" is stamped beneath the swastika in tiny letters.
The medallion is in good condition with normal scratches, wear, and discoloration.
