~ 1917 Royal Garrison Artillery Brodie Helmet ~ Here we have one of the iconic helmets from World War 1, the Brodie, the service helmet of the British Tommy. This one belonged to a soldier in the Royal Garrison Artillery, the job of the Royal Garrison Artillery was to man the heavy guns in the forts and coastal fortresses.This Brodie has seen some wear and tear but is on overall very good condition with its original wool and oilskin liner.It has an insignia showing the mark R.G.A for Royal Garrison Artillery.It has the standard green paint with some wear and ageing.~ Dimensions ~The helmet has a 12 inch (30 cm) diameter.The helmet is 5 inches (12.5 cm) high.The helmet weighs 980g.~ Condition ~The helmet is in rather good condition for its age. There are areas where the paint has discoloured and worn.The insignia has some wear but is still visible.The liner is no longer attached but held in with twine.For further details and condition see pictures below....
