1925 B&D Bacon and Day Silver Bell No. 2 tenor banjo with worn original hardshell case. Typical style 2 with silver plating, Planet tuners with mother of pearl buttons and carved neck heel. Matching numbers on dowel and rim. Jos. Rogers head. This example has an original additional thistle(?) inlay on the heel and inlay on the back of the peghead which I don\'t think are typical for a 2.The armrest appears to have been with the banjo from the beginning, marked \"King\" on the underside. Typically the tailpiece would be an Oettinger however this one has a Lyon and Healy tailpiece. The rim also has the hole with grommet for a mute however I don\'t see any marks on the dowel stick to indicate one was ever installed.The banjo was purchased from the family of the original owner. Interestingly he traveled the across the Atlantic and the case has stickers from hotels in Europe and from what appears to be the Cunard cruise line.
