1930’s KAY KRAFT RECORDING KING
I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF GUITARS BUT WHAT I HAVE FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECORDING KING IS THAT IT WAS MADE IN THE 1930’s, WHERE KAY CONTRACTED WITH STROMBER-VOISINET WHO WAS A VIOLIN MAKER TO BUILD A DELUXE ARCH TOP ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENT WITH AN ADJUSTABLE NECK. THEY DESIGNED THIS INSTRUMENT.
I HAD THE GUITAR STORED AWAY FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND FORGOT ABOUT IT UNTIL I CAME ACROSS IT WHILE CLEANING OUT A BACK ROOM; IT WAS ORIGINALLY GIVEN TO MY FATHER FROM AN AGED FAMILY FRIEND BACK IN THE 1970s.
THERE IS SOME WEAR AND MARKINGS ON THE WOOD BUT SOMEONE WHO COLLECTS AND RESTORES THESE INSTRUMENTS COULD BRING IT BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL BEAUTY.
SINCE I DON’T KNOW HOW TO PLAY, I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW IT SOUNDS.
ATTACHED TO THE GUITAR IS A DeARMOND SOUNDHOLE PICKUP. I AM GUESSING THIS WAS PUT ON SOMEWHERE AROUND 1960’s.
THAT’S ABOUT ALL I CAN TELL YOU ABOUT THE GUITAR, BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS JUST ASK.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
