This is an original Lionel train set with a die-cast Scout locomotive. The engine is a rare variant only made in the early part of 1951 with the air hole in the boiler on the front of the engine. The engine runs good forward but will not run backwards, it acts like it is locked in forward position. It is missing the two jewels off the front of the engine. The 1001T Sheet Metal Tender was only made in 1948 according to a lionel guide. There are three matching black plastic shelled 1002 cars. The orange cargo car has a plastic shell and steel base, and the side reads \"Enjoy Curtiss Baby Ruth Candy.\" The caboose was taken from a different set, and is also a plastic car with sides that read, \"WT42800 Nickel Plate Road 9060 Lionel.\" We have more Lionel and Marx trains, transformers, track, and accessories to list for sale, so keep an eye on our listings.
