1954 Rock-Ola Model 1438 Jukebox, stepper, wallboxes & remote volume control:
$3800.00

Listed is an original fully loaded 1954 Rockola 1438 Comet. This jukebox appears to be untouched and original other than the metal trim at the bottom. I have owned the box for about 6 years and I have done nothing with it. She has sat untouched collecting dust. I am selling the box as non functional, although I believe with a little work she would be good to go. I did replace the 10 amp fuse on the power supply and the box lights up and program drum rotates. On the 8th of Jan I found an original Rockola green cartridge and needle from another 1438 Comet and and I installed it. The comet does not accept credits nor does it make selections. I spent a few years looking for the most complete original comet I could find, one in exceptional condition before finding this one and purchasing her. She was definitely well cared for and probably has super low hours. There is a hard to find stepper for the wall boxes installed and a correct impossible to find remote volume control with correct cable, that I bought for the machine when I had the chance. The two wallboxes appear to be complete with their individual keys. The guy I bought the 1438 from told me that this unit came off site working along with the wallboxes. As stated before, I have hooked nothing up and I selling everything as a package \"as is\". The one nice thing about this machine, is that all the hard to find plastics that are not currently being reproduced are there and in excellent condition. There is a small chip at the top of the left pilasters and some possible hairline cracks. There is also a glued repair in the lower portion of the right pilaster. It is hard to see them. You can\'t see the chip at the top of the one unless you bend down and look at the top of the plastic pilaster. The machine was missing a caster wheel when I got it, but I found four correct 1438 wheels. I replaced the missing one and the other three come with the machine, so you have three extra. Also, I have an original correct bottom trim piece to replace the damaged one. There are some small marks and scratches/dings on the finish of the machine. The paint on the back door and inside is definitely original. The back door lock is missing and the front door/dome lock has been drilled out. You can open with a screwdriver. These locks should not be difficult to find. The small plastics for coin and reject are missing but available at Victory Glass. The lock for the cash box is also missing. The one hard to find part of this machine that is typically missing is the lower door green plastic light diffuser. This plastic is present and in excellent condition with a repair to a crack. Typically this part is missing leaving just an exposed bulb. Please see the photos and ask questions. The jukebox comes with a reproduction manual. I am selling the machine as is were it is. I have lost interest in this machine and ready to pass it on to someone to enjoy. Besides, I am really a Seeburg and Wurlitzer guy not having ever owned a Rockola other than this one. Don\'t pass this deal up, as I can almost guarantee you will never find a cleaner original machine with all the accessories.
I prefer a local pick up and you can come by and see the machine. I will ship the machine as long as the carrier is legit and has a bill of lading and all of the appropriate signed paper work completed before pick up. I will do a bill of sale for the buyer, even though the deal constitutes a contract.
I have the right to end the sale early as I have the box for sale locally.I will not separate the wallboxes, stepper or remote volume control from the package. Do not ask me and I will not respond to your requests to do such. Who ever buys this machine I am sure will be super happy with this hard to find comet package and probably could turn it around for a significant profit once everything is hooked up and gone through.
