Greetings.....This is a 1958 Knight model 83-YX-797 18 watt mono tube amplifier, and a 1962?Knight KF-65 mono tube AM/FM tuner being sold as a set. Recently serviced by Dan at dcsvintage.com, both unitswere gone through and restored to original working order. We believe both units were originally kits, but not 100% sure. First, the amp transformer had an open circuit, and needed replacing. A suitable Hammond transformerwas chosen, along with an open 120K resistor, and all pots cleaned. Tubes are: one EF86, (2) ECC83\'s, (2) 6973\'s, and one EZ81, all in good working order. Secondly, the tuner had one coupling capacitor replaced, some solder connections re-soldered, both AM and FM tuners aligned, and all tubes in good working order. The condition of these unit is near mint, outside of the rubber peg leg marks that occurred on the crinkled enamel finish of the metal housings. All original parts included, and as with all vintage electronics given their sensitive nature, will be sold AS IS, with no returns.
