Teac Berlant Concertone connection
More: In the February, 1982 issue of Modern Recording and Music magazine, James Rayton with the Ascot Recording Studio in Hollywood, CA wrote:
\"probably around the early \'60s, the (Berlant/Concertone) assembly was moved to Japan, and around the same time, the company became known, paradoxically, as \"American Concertone\"; their product emphasis gradually moved into the mid-to-high-end consumer category, (and occasionally appeared under other trade names like \'Concord\'). Whatever remains of the company today is perhaps better known as TEAC.
I am by no means an expert on vintage Reel to Reel audio equipment. I don\'t have any tape reels to test the audio. I plugged it in, turned it on and all the buttons work, forward, reverse, play, Stop ect. The spindles turn with you push play, rewind, forward etc. It has the original AV cord and corded Mic in a zippered pouch.
It really looks well taken care of. The fellow I got it from said it was given to his father to listen to church services on since he couldn\'t attend and that he ended up not using very much at all. It has 3 tape speeds1-7/8, 3-3/4 & 7-1/2.
It is pretty heavy and the shipping is $89.99 to the lower 48 states. Please ask all the right questions before you purchase because there is no returns on old electronics.
