1964 Hammond A100 organ rebuilt restored:
$1800.00

here we have a very nice Hammond A100 organ that I\'ve spent around 50-60 hours working on, getting it to play much better, look much better and be much more reliable. notice I didn\'t say sound better, the organ sounded great when I got it,. please sit back for a few minutes and let me tell you all about what I\'ve done to give you a much better organ than you can get than buying one that has been \"serviced\" though the years.
the last few times I\'ve posted organs I rebuilt they all got sold locally, so here goes again.
this organ did sound great when I got it, I didn\'t do anything to change the tone, all my work involves getting it to playing better and much less of chance of a breakdown. I start off by rebuilding the preamp, I automatically replace all the electrolytic capacitors, leaking caps and caps out of whack cause hums, lack of power ect. replacing all these caps gets the power flowing more like it was intended from the factory. I did replace a couple of resistors in the preamp as well, also check all the tubes with my great tube tester. the A100 has a power amp and a reverb amp, I usually don\'t work on these unless I hear something going on, I just check the tubes, the reverb amp did have one tube that needed replaced. all my work is in the preamp because I believe all these should run through a Leslie and the power amp is secondary to the preamp. I also do a lot of maintenance in the preamp that gets these things running better and be less likely to fail.
I rebuild the scanner, this is the most likely cause of bad, choppy vibrato. even though this scanner was working fine, rebuilding it and getting out all the oil in the insulators will greatly reduce the chance the scanner will short out.
the key action is the biggest job I do, I completely restore this and get the presets working like new as well. this is around a 12 hour job, I repair any sloppy noisy keys that bang against each other and they organ plays tight when I\'m done, I also replace the upstop felts, this gives the organ a more cushy feeling rather than a thud when the keys return to the up position. the presets work great now. if you\'ve ever been around some Hammond that the presets either are sticky or don\'t stay down you will appreciate what I do here.
I also do tons of general maintenance, like blowing out the switches, lubing the drawbars, ect. I check all the notes and make sure everything is sounding fine, great percussion on this organ, no doubt you\'ll like it.
if you would like a Leslie hookup on this organ for a 147 style with half moon switch and 6 pin connector I charge $140, a 122 hookup is $200. I have a Leslie if you are local and want to try out the organ, or if you want to purchase a Leslie with this it\'s a 145 (45 conversion) and it\'s $1100 more
shipping will depend on where you are and if I can ship it to a warehouse in your area it will be cheaper as well, I\'m asking $600 but you will only be charged actual shipping and packing cost.
Organ dollys in some of pictures is not included and are not for sale
