Here is a November 1965 Schwinn Stingray 20\" 2-speed muscle bike (serial #LAxxxxx). The bike is in the original sky blue factory painted color. The decals on top bar and down tube quality decal are original. The chainguard and darts on forks are new water transfersthat look great. The bike was cleaned and rough areas in paint smoothed over before being sealed with an ultraviolet resistantclear coat.
This bike has a working Bendix 2-speed overdrive automatic back hub and brake on a S2 20\" sized schwinn wheel.View a video of the bike hereThe back tire is an original Schwinn Stingray slik made in USA with a date code of October \'65. The back tire has a faded yellow oval slik stamp. The front wheel is a S7 20\" size Schwinn with nice Schwinn stamp on front hub. The front tire is a USA Schwinn Westwind. The front brake has large Schwinn approved stamp on the front with original cable. This vintage bike has matching blue sparkle Schwinn approved grips on correct Schwinn stamp wide apehanger handlebars.
The front forks have a November 65 date code, the crank has a September 65 date code. The sissybar is a Persons USA stamped high loop connected to a Schwinn Stingray banana seat with Q-bolts. The seat post clamp has the correct early style \"AS\" stamp. The tires show wear and tear with some cracking. The seat is from a later year Stingray (\'67 or \'68) and has nicks and scrapes in vinyl. The vinyl is dry in places.
