This listing is for a souvenir program & score card for the 1966 SEATTLE ANGELS, with neatly written scoring marks on the two score sheet pages (see page 2 for the Seattle scoring page example). This 1966 team was the Triple A farm club for the Los Angeles Angels in 1968 -- and this program is for a game played on July 6, 1966 against the Spokane Indians club at Sicks\' Seattle Stadium (Seattle won this particular game 2-1). The Seattle Angels were known for many years as the Seattle Rainiers; Seattle\'s minor league history ran from 1903 thru1968. Seattle became a major league city in 1969 with the Seattle Pilots for one year, then the Seattle Mariners starting in 1977 to the present. The Seattle Angels had Jay Johnstone (who hit the only home run in the this particular game), Hector Torres, Chuck Vinson, Felix Torres, Julio Gotay, Al Spangler, Bubba Morton -- with Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Lemon as the manager. Spokane (a Dodger farm team) had John Werhas, Tommy Dean, and pitchers Stan Williams, Jack Billingham, Nick Willhite, etc; Roy Hartsfield was the manager. There are full scoring markings (in blue ink) for all nine innings of the game on the two center score sheet pages (see close up photo #2 above). The program has 20 numbered pages, and is 6.5 x 9.50 inches in size.
This 50 year old score card is still in excellent condition, except for the scoring markings on the two score sheet pages. The paper color is still white, due to better quality paper now being used for scorecards than in earlier years. All four corners of this score card program are still very firm & strong. There are no creases orfolds on any pages, no markings on any pages, other than the two scoring pages. It has been stored untouched in a box in a climatecontrolled room & smoke free environment for all those years.
