For sale is a 1967 Guild Starfire V with the original hardshell case. Talk about a rock n roll classic guitar with the looks and playability that everyone else tried to recreate even now. The looks are as good as they get with the cherry red finish and big block inlays. The finish lets all that nice mahogany wood grain peek through and against the cream binding its a show stopper. If you follow my sales I have a 1970 Gibson LP Deluxe up right now and believe it or not this guitar came from the same LP owner. As I mentioned in that sale, this guy was a big rock guitar player in the 70s and that LP was his main guitar. This one he told me he did not tour with as much so it is in very good shape for 44 years old. He kept it all original with no mods at all. The sound is nothing short of Check out that link and I think you would agree it for sure has more pronounced mids/bass then then ES-335. Very sweet sounding guitar that just gets sweeter when you crank it up. The neck seems not as big as the 50s style neck so it is comfortable and fast. I have it weighing in at 8lbs. These have that master volume on the lower horn which is a really nice feature. The humbuckers are plenty snappy with tone but I had it cranked with no response issues. Check out the tuners, original pat pending Grovers.
Condition like I said is very good. The electronics are clean with no issues to report. Front of the headstock is clean, frets don't have much wear so no maintenance is needed, chrome hardware has light patina but over all in good shape, front of the body has the normal playing scratches and dings, back of the headstock has some light wear marks, back of the neck has the normal scratches/dings/wear, binding looks very clean, back of the body has buckle rash and you can see the two spot in the middle which has most of it, front and back has checking of course. Please use the zoom feature that I provide. Over all I would give it a 7.5/8 out of 10 considering the age of this piece and it is all original.
