Schwinn produced the Varsity model between 1953 and 1982, and it was the first 10-speed bicycle made by the company. Schwinn offered other bicycle models but the Varsity was the only one that had more than three speeds. Features included the narrow wheels that became the hallmark of 10-speed bicycles, drop handlebars, and hand brakes. The Varsity frame had steel bars and front forks, making it heavier than a number of other Schwinn models.

This bike is 38+ years old and I am the original owner. It waswell usedwhenI wasa teenager and it traveled where I went. So well used, however ithas spent the majority of the last 30 years garage stored. I had thoughts about riding again about ten years ago and so had it \"tuned\" along with new wheels and seat, so no all parts are original. Note there is an ID plate that includes my name and two phone numbers which long ceased to be mine (if you wish to remove it is attached by two small rivets).

I would love to see it cared for and used versus hanging in my garage!
