This 1986 Fender Contemporary Strat is an underrated classicI am obsessed with 80s Fender and early MIJ--- this guitar is a winner. The neck on this one is a speed racer, and if it doesn\'t sell I\'m going to keep it. I can do everything from METAL on this, to emotive blues and harmonious country. It\'s hard to find the black on black Contemporary strats and it\'s cool to actually play one. This one with two humbuckers and a matching headstock will win you over as soon as you play it. Made in the same factory as Ibanez at the time, this guitar is a gem of the 80s (it\'s a JEM pun.) The neck plays faster than many guitars I have played --- it just has this comfortable C/D shape that is in its own class. It\'s somewhat thin, but it\'s not like your puny shredder metal guitar. The bridge/tremolo stays in good tune and has a healthy amount of up and down pull like a Floyd while maintaining a lot in common with the traditional strat tremolo. Don\'t be afraid by how it looks, it strings like an ordinary strat. The humbuckers are outrageously creamy with tones that go from classic strat to ZZ Top/Billy Gibbons epicness.I live in a fashion city and this guitar is a looker. Fender Japan in this time made some stunning and undeniably cool designs; this is one of them. The quality of this guitar is especially high because it comes from a year where Fender was exclusively being manufactured in Japan. It is a very functional/sturdy instrument and one heck of a super strat. It has been recently setup with low action and is ready for some sweeps and T-Bone Shuffles.This one has some light pickscrapes, minor buckle, minor dings/scratches throughout and light fretware in open position (amazing fretwork though.)
