BriefBalance history

Balance were actually all high-endrace bikes and popular with many 1990’s race teams.
Balance had a world championship gold medals to their name. Johnny Mutolo wonthe Junior worlds in Italy, and Mike King won the DH world in 93.

The lastyear Balance was in business was 1998. The brand was the brainchild of formerBMX rider Harry Leary. Mike King made the big breakthrough for Balance, when hewon world cup championship gold around \'93.
Balance was then owned by a Taiwan firm until 1998 they stopped making bikesunder the \'Balance\' brand. I believe the Balance brand name was sold around in1999 the brand Balance bikes appeared in Europe, Germany. These “Balance” bikesdid not look at all like the “originals”,

And so themighty Balance like many of the great 1990’s small brands had become an orphanbrand, member of those brands that never lived very long but are now quitedesirable, cool riding and great looking retro MTB without spending a fortunefor a Klein, GT, Fat Chance, Yeti, Ritchey.
