I am offering for sale an early or mid-19th century French sword or epee with a clam shell guard and checkered ebony grip. It is in excellent condition with the original ebony grip completely intact and bluing and gilding remaining on the triangular blade. The top of the blade is signed with a W, which signifies the sword maker Weyersberg in Solingen, Germany. The sword, including the grip and blade, measures 37 1/4 inches long.
