This BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE 30 PIECE SET of EDWIN M KNOWLES CHINAincludes:

FIVE DINNER PLATES, 9.5" across and 30" around.

ONE SERVING BOWL, 2.5" in height, 9" across and 28" around with a small chip on the bottom of the rim edge about 1/2" in length.

SIX CUPS, all in good condition.

SIX SAUCERS, 6" across and 19.5" around.

SIX SMALL PLATES, 6" across and 19.5 around .

SIX SMALL BOWLS, 5.5" across and 11.5" around .

Printed on the back of all but one of the dinner plates is:Edwin M Knowles China Co. . Made In U.S.A. . 44-8 . and inside of the basket logo "Semi Vitreous", this is also printed on the bottom of the bowl and in script letteringare the numers 1559 UG. None of the other pieces are marked. I could not find the name of the pattern for these pieces but the decorationhas a lovely Blue pastel border withasoft Pink floral design. This China has been in our family since the 1940s andfrom what I was able to find out about it, I believe it was made in 1943.

Each piece is trimmed in gold and the field color of the pieces is a soft Ivory. There are some condition issues as a result of age and some use, but nothing too serious. I have included photos of the most affected areas. Some of the pieces havesome crazing from age andnearly all of the flaws are on the back side of the pieces and not very visible unless you look close. I tried to get a photo ofall of the areas with problems, but you could hardly tell what you were looking at. One of the more serious areas is along the rim of one of the smaller plates where aout 1.5" of the trim is scraped away and one plate has been glued the other areas are small chips orsmall spots of missing gold trim..I suspect that these areas could be dealt with..In spite of the flaws this is a lovely set of Vintage China and it could make a nice addition to any vintage collection.
