This is a portfolio of 6 lithographs done for the Daytona Beach Resort Area Chamber of Commerce in 1961. It is a series of 6 sketches of "The World's Most Famous Beach" in the winter of 1961. There are 6 sun splashed vignettes of a Daytona Vacation, seen throught Norman Rockwell's eyes. It was published as an advertisement campaign by the Daytona Beach Resort Area Chamber of Commerce to bring vacationers down to Daytona Beach. Included is the original envelope that was used when they sent it out to people. Condition of the pieces is in excellent shape, with not creases, tears or marks of any kind. The outside envelope does have aging around the edges. This does not effect images at all. FOUND TREASURE! IN THE SUMMER OF 1961 THE DAYTONA CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE HIRED NORMAN ROCKWELL TO SIT ON THE BEACH AND DO SOME SKETCHES. THESE 6 WERE PICKED AND SENT OUT TO HOPEFULL VISITORS TO LURE THEM AWAY FROM THE NAPLES BEACHESTO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. THIS WAS AN UNOPENED PACKET- OPENED TO SHOOT THE PICTURES. STILL IN ORIGINAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ENVELOPE. ALL SIGNED BY THE GREAT ARTIST, ALL ON HEAVY DUTY MATTE PAPER-READY TO FRAME. APPROX 9" X 12".
