92 Caterpillar D6H dif steer grapple Crawler Dozer NORESERVE AUCTION ENDS OCT 26:
$21100.00

1992 D6H Differential steering S/N 3zf01504 October 26th sale: Grants Pass, Oregon Ritchie Bros:
Peterson Caterpillar ran the history of the D6H when I Purchased it from Snow-McElligott in the Summer of 2013. Snow-McElligott was a low impact owner; using it on their 60,000 acre agricultural ranch in Lone, Oregon. SE of Dalles Oregon. They reported owning if for the previous decade. Ken Bailey was their local mechanic and heavy equipment shop owner . Ken Bailey went through the entire dozer from 2009-2013 changing the torque converter, undercarriage complete, final drives, and complete review top to bottom. Joe McElligott and Ken Bailey confirmed the dozer was only ran a 300 hours per year over the past decade. Peterson Cat confirmed the hours throughout the nineties. A logger in NW Oregon owned it for the first decade, and he purchased it new with the forestry package and added the Young Grapple in 1992 from Peterson Cat. I only ran the dozer on four road projects, over the past four years, and that\'s less than 300 hours per year. A total of 11,500 is a very accurate hourly reading. When dozer\'s run in tandem with other equipment on infrequent projects, in the Northwest where it\'s rare to operate in the winter, the hours don\'t add up to much.
While I owned it, I had one mechanic/operator, operate it and myself. We were extremely careful about the maintenance and operating smoothly. It\'s important to run full RPM\'s in first on a heavy push with the machine and to carefully using the brakes against low rpms with the torque converter, as the newish torque converter seems overpowered for the dozer. This was explained to me by Joe McElligott four years ago. The Torque converter, kicks in, and you can feel it capable of pushing thru the brakes, that were also reviewed at the time it was installed. Torque converter, full review, and undercarriage has less than 800 hours +/-.
Since, McElligott never used it a logging application, the Young 100\" grapple wasn\'t maintained. I had Pape Machinery rebuild the swivel unit at approximately 10,800 hours. But part time help installed it. The pin needs to be pulled, grapple reversed, and shoes tightened. Since we barely used it, we didn\'t worry about it the last four years. The nut surface is wearing down on the backside, but 85% in tacts. We would have reversed it instantly if we had to do any significant log skidding. We never skidded over 200 logs in the past four years.
The dates and service hours are still barely legible on the left side of the engine compartment.
There is a seal, that has an oil leak in the one of the cylinders on the grapple; only needs to be repacked.
We replaced one idler and standard service over the past 4 years, nothing else.
West of Redding 3 miles I have a brush rake, that goes with it, but you have handle transport. I have some of the service records, Parts manual, and shop manual at our home in Redding, CA that I will ship out to the purchaser.
3306 engine runs like new.
transmission works like new.
all components seem to work perfectly.
