A LARGE EARLY 19th CENTURY GEORGE III THREE COMPARTMENT TEA CADDYOffered for sale is this stunning large fine quality early 19th century Georgian (George III circa 1830) solid mahogany (note: not veneered) three compartment tea caddy with the original brass carrying handle and brass keyhole escutcheon, having two removable lidded canisters for green and brown tea and a center compartment for a mixing bowl. The external wood finish has a rich grain flame affect and super original patina; the colour of the external is a little darker than the photographs due to the camera flash photography. Internally there are two removable mahogany canisters have mahogany hinged lids, and a center compartment for a mixing bowl which is lined in the original green valor similar to the inside of the main lid. Pleasetake time to study all the photographs to gain an appreciation of this verynice box.I believe that this box is all original including the carrying handle, stop hinges and lock which is inworking order with a key provided, and the internal valor linings and the material linings to the base. The condition of this lovely box is quite exceptional considering it\'s age, having no damage, splits, cracks, or previous restoration/repair work; there are a few very very minor insignificant knocks due to age/use, and the internal canister linings are in reasonable. Please see all the photographs for overall condition.
