Exquisite antique late 1800's , early 1900's
Victorianlace wedding dress....museum quality ~!
Absolutely gorgeous authentic Victorian wedding dress....discovered at a most prestigious New England estate. This lace gown is in very rare, excellent condition. Filled with stunning lace. The lace has been researched by a lace expert and the following is her report:
"The fine lace with vine and flowers was made by Leavers Mill, inspired by French Valenciennes bobbin lace. The more open one is Machine Embroidery by Swiss Schiffli Embroidery Machine, burntwork technique... inspired by Irish Crochet ."
Peplum style bodice. Tight corset waist with wide lace trim. Matching lace drapes off the shoulders. The long sleeves are beautifully pleated as is the upper bodice & center lace panel. The lower skirtruffled flounce features tiny tucks as well. Elegant high neck lace collar with wire stays....will look exquisite with your cameo pin. Early hook & eye closure up the back. Plenty of room in the rear to accomodate a wire cage bustle if you like. This beautiful Victorian dress can easily be worn for your special day. The fabric is a snow white handkerchief linen . Absolutely no holes found....this is museum quality! The following flaws are noted: Tiny lace unravelling back waistband from waist hook...see photo below. Very, very light tiny age spot back lower skirt. This is in amazing condition...can easily be worn. This antique wedding dress measures as follows:
