Please be patient for the pictures to load, it's worth the wait.
Victorian era
Serving spoon

Terrific looking spoon that is made out of solid silver with a design of Moscow (I believe) on the back of the spoon. It has a finale on the top and a twisted handle. I can't tell if this has enamel/niello or if it is darker in the crevices from tarnish over the years. It would make a great serving spoon for sugar, mustard or any condiment really. Great conversation piece!

Monogram: none

This spoon was made in Russia in 1888 (it's marked).

Measurements (approx):

31.1 grams = 1 troy ounce

Marks: {NA} maker mark {?? over 1888} {84} silver fineness {Arms} city mark

*This is made out of 875/1000 parts silver. Sterling silver is actually 925/1000 parts silver. Continental silver is generally made in different grades 800, 830, 835, 875, 900, 935, etc....

Condition: Excellent estate condition. There are no splits, dents, dings, repairs, etc...

Rating = 10 out of 10!

I have lots of Victorian sterling and coin silver going up for sale this week, so have a look at my other items.

IMPORTANT International Shipping
It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay duty/VAT tax. These fees are not included in the item price or shipping cost. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to offerding or buying. This is a fee that your country collects and has nothing to do with me as a seller. I am often asked to lie on the customs forms so that the buyer can get around paying these fees. I will not lie on the forms, so please don't ask me to do so.

I ship international items via the U.S. Postal Service. Most items I will ship first class mail as long as they don't exceed $100.00 in value. First class does not include insurance or tracking which means I will not be responsible for a package if it gets damaged or lost. Due to recent lost packages that I had to pay for...anything that sells for over $100 will automatically be sent via priority mail which is generally around $25.00. Priority mail has tracking and insurance included in the price. Please keep these shipping costs in mind when offerding on my items. You can always contact me for an exact shipping quote if you intend on offerding more than $100.00 for an item. I will combine the cost of shipping if you win more than one sale and a second item generally ships free or for a very low amount. Check my response, I am very fair on my shipping fees.

SPECIAL NOTE: The United States heightened their security measures for packages shipped overseas on November 18, 2010. This has slowed down shipping on a lot of my items. Packages that used to take 7-10 days can take up to 4-6 weeks. I don't have any control over this, so please be patient if your package takes longer than expected. Shipping priority often ensures that it will be delivered within 10 days. So, if time is important to you, I suggest that you opt for the priority shipping route.

U.S. Shipping & Insurance

I ship via the USPS and I DO combine shipping fees. If you win more than one sale, I will take the highest shipping fee and add .75 cents - $1.00 for each additional item...sometimes I can add them for free if it stays under a certain weight. Included in your shipping fee is delivery confirmation & insurance against loss or damage to the item. I insure 95% of my items through an outside source. On the rare occassion that an insurance claim has to be made, this ensures that you get refunded your money quickly and without a lot of hassle. The USPS can be a pain in the rear. :o)

Payment Terms

Payment is due within ten (10) days of sale close unless you are offerding on other items. You can send me an email and I will extend the payment due date. At this time, I accept PayPal. If you aren't able to pay with PayPal, please contact me for possible other arrangements. :o)

Please read my response, most customers feel that my items are much better in person than how I described to them to be on the sale page. I only make refunds for errors in listings, I do not make them due to buyers remorse. I list all obvious flaws - this does not mean I will catch every single pin head size ding on a 150 year old item. This is what I consider "expected". If I say it has a wavy feel to it and you don't know what that means, please email me before offerding. Don't wait until you have received it to say "well, I saw that you said wavy...but, I didn't know what that meant" or "I looked up the maker after I received my spoon and he was in business in 1855, not 1854". Please use your own reference material to determine the age/authenticity. Look it up before you offer, not after you receive the item. I may be getting my information from a different book, or I may have made a typo, or I just plain might be wrong. Errors on my part are never intentional, but they do happen ~ afterall, I am human :) On occasion I add to my descriptions, please check for additions at the bottom of this page before placing your final offer.

If you do receive an item that you aren't happy with, email me. I don't like to have unhappy customers, only happy ones. Check my response, I'm a fair and honest seller. Please give me the chance to fix the problem before you leave a negative response. I make my living selling on and when a customer leaves a negative response, that hurts my reputation (and my feelings :-). If I do make an error, I refund shipping costs ~ BOTH ways!

Requests for refunds must be made within 3 days of receiving your purchase and items must be returned within 7 days of notifying me, in their original condition.
