Acoustic Research AR-3 Vintage Loudspeakers
Mirrored components. All original complete alnico components were pulled from working pair of AR-3 cabinets and installed in newly built custom cabinets. All speakers work normally. No dents or damage to cone paper. Pots were cleaned with Deoxit, but are still scratchy when adjusted and cut out on many points.
Cabinets are built from thick MDF board inside with a outer layer of pine. Original insulation used inside for dampening material as well as original crossovers. Please see pictures below. Each cabinet weighs 61.5 POUNDS / 28 KG. Grilles are original plastic and cloth. Grille frames may need to be glued to fit on cabinet frontssecurely ifpreferredby buyer. Cabinets were built to specs from original cabinet, but are not an exact match. Some minor imperfections are noticed if carefully inspected. Only 4 of original 8 woofer screws were used in new cabinet install.
