Some time ago I listed these speakers and got a number of questions regarding the originality of the components making up both systems. I am not technically proficient so I spoke to a technician familiar with AR speakers. Based on our chat, below is what I learned.About eight years ago both speakers were serviced. The woofers were replaced as were numerous tweeters. Mid ranges were and are still working properly. I do not know if the crossovers were touched. The woofers are manufactured for AR but are not made by AR. Several of the tweeters fall into the same category. Every driver on both speakers works. The white tweeters are, (in fact), made by AR. They come from an AR 9 tower system. I\'m told they interface correctly with the LST crossover. The only recommendation was to put one white tweeter in each speaker as opposed to both in one speaker. This might aid in the spectral balance between both speakers. I leave that option to the prospective buyer.I can unequivocally state both speakers systems sound beautiful throughout the entire audio range. They have clear, clean mid range and highs as well as tight, deep bass. As stated, the cabinets have minor scratches and blemishes but look pretty good overall. The grill cloths are new from original AR stock. These speakers have always been kept in a smoke and pet free environment. Throughout their time, they were driven by a 70\'s era MARANTZ 510m power amp, (256 watts RMS per channel), and MARANTZ 3300 pre-amp. I\'m selling because of downsizing and a planned relocation to another city. I strongly recommend local pickup. If not, buyer pays all shipping and Paypal expenses. Each speaker will be securely packed. They are very heavy. I will pay for shipping insurance.
