ADULT Medium EU38-40 Easily adjusted up or down in size, see below.COMPLETE SMARTLOOKING NORWEGIAN SOFTWOOL FESTDRAKT BUNAD A most marvelous festdrakt Bunad made of 80% wool and 20% polyester for durability and so it hangs properly.Dry clean. This is a gorgeousoutfit. Theembroidery is wonderful. ExcellentNorwegian Festdrakt in polyester, wool, cotton and rayon...Does not wrinkle. The blouse is of cotton. Wear black stockings and black shoes. Roomy in size and easily adjustable with moving of buttons and snaps.This is easy to adjust larger or smaller and we are happy to help you understand how to do it in the most reasonable way.
Approximate measurements:
Cumberbund Waist to max 38" including a little overlap to fasten with snaps, but if necessary can have black loops or ties addedto each side to make it several inches larger. Overlap more to make smaller.
Shoulder at neck to waistband 18"
Total length approximately 56". Easy to shorten if desired. You just make another pleat on the black part like the others already there.
Adjust larger: Add loops to buttons on cumberbund. Let out 1" side seams. The blouse is probably large enough as they are always roomy for folk dancing and comfort. Open the snapsat the waist and leave theopening hidden behind the apron for a little extra extra width if needed.
Adjust smaller: overlapping cumberbund more and/or moving buttons in on the bodice. Shorten skirt by taking a pleat above the trim insteads of just turning the hem. Easy to take in side seams.

The BUNAD for adults hasstrict ethnic rules as to howit mustlook and what silver is to be worn to be "Correct". As these costumes are 100% hand embroidered andsewn together,they usually cost from $3000, silver NOT included....they are made with deep hems and wide seams so they can be taken in and let out as needed, andwhen passed on from one generation to another. My mother`s Bunad went to my wife and now our daughter is wearing it. Each valley hasits own bunad which isrecognizable to others.Usually a young person does not own an adultbunad beforehe or she isconfirmed at the age of 15...because of the fact they are still growing and the expense. Many adults have chosen a festdrakt bunad as well and for the same reasons....maybe for a confirmation or wedding or 17 mai. ...so they have a FESTDRAKT /BUNAD.
The FESTDRAKT BUNADhas nodistinct design designated bya particulararea andis made ofa combination of beautiful fabrics, bordersand designs from different valleys made toassimilate the adultcostumes....and they are marvelous....some of soft wool, others of cotton...lavish brocades etc.
SIZE: The actual measurement is not so terribly important in a way because it is easy to alter .In choosingyours look for the basic year or size and then check the measurements. If you need help just write me.
